Ottapalam is the educational centre of palakkad district. The place has given birth to many distinguished personalities. In this area more than 30% of the population is muslims. This community in this area is socially and economically backward and educationally deprived. Number of professionals and representation in civil services from this community are too negligible.In order to eradicate the backwardness and include them the main stream of nation building.
